In loving memory of

Kaylee Elizabeth Brady
December 5, 2002 - July 10, 2018

Kaylee Elizabeth Brady, 15, of the Town of Ulster, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City after a courageous battle with Burkitt's Leukemia. She was born on December 5, 2002 in Kingston. Kaylee attended Miller Middle School and then most recently was a Freshman at Kingston High School.

Kaylee was the most fierce, brave, courageous, fearless person anyone could have had the pleasure to meet. Her spunk and sass made her adored by many, especially during her fight. The staff of D7 at Albany Medical Center will tell you she spoke her mind and was never afraid to challenge what was being done. She controlled her health care, which was impressive at only 15. She became educated, asked questions, and never failed to voice her concerns if something wasn't being done by protocol. There was never a doubt in her mind that she wanted to win this battle. She approached her treatment with grace and her head held high, without hesitation, complaint, or fear. Kaylee left an impression on everyone she met, leaving each with memories and lessons, which is exactly what she would have wanted most. She will forever be her family's hero, and now their guardian angel. She will continue watching over her parents and her siblings just as she did here on Earth.

Kaylee is survived by her parents, Allison and Todd Blankschan, her siblings, Lauren Brady, Lucas Blankschan, and Kayden Blankschan, her father, Andrew (Lisa) Brady, her maternal grandparents, Pamela and David Rhodes, and Kevin Godbey, her paternal grandparents, Diane Gehrer and Peter Stefancich, and Ted and Kathleen Blankschan, her great grandparents, Carmella Cusatis, and Robert and Mary Ellen Gehrer, her aunts and uncles, Kyle and Carrie Godbey, Kaitlyn and Mitchell Hughes, Amy Rhodes, Mary Brady and her fiance Jerome Lagrada, Jamie Blankschan and his fiance Beverly Schneck , and Kortney and Donald Markle, III, her special friend, Margarita who stayed by her side and helped care for her, as well as many other family members and dear friends. She is predeceased by her great grandparents, Eugene Cusatis, and John and Elizabeth Godbey. The family would like to thank the nurses at Albany Medical Center, Unit D7, for their care and compassion and the families of Aunt Jenn's Early Learning Center for all of their support.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY, 12401 where family and friends may visit from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday July 15, 2018. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11am at St. Catherine Laboure RC Church. Burial will follow in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Kaylee may be made to St. Baldrick's Foundation at https://www.stbaldricks.org/memorial/128 To leave an expression of sympathy, please visit www.KeyserFuneralService.com.

"I met Kaylee and Allison in D7. She was the sweetest, most spunky kid in the unit. I used to stop by her room to just chat, and we would joke around. She approached the most difficult battle of her life with such grace, that she made a place in my heart. I met her less than 2 weeks ago in clinic, when Kaylee and Allison were upbeat about being finished with chemo and heading to normal life soon. I am so heartbroken that cancer stole that from both of them. Lots of love to Allison and the family as they deal with this most painful and unexpected loss of a beautiful soul."

"I taught Kaylee English in her 7th grade year. She was bright and mature far beyond her chronological age. It was truly an honor to be a small part of her life and read her poetry about her dreams, questions, struggles, and joys. Kaylee lived life without fear of judgement or criticism. I will always remember her strong spirit. My condolences and prayers to the entire family and all the friends that will miss Kaylee beyond words. Sincerely, Mrs. Burns (Miller 8th Grade)"
