Michael Anthony Panariello
September 11, 1963 - July 20, 2018







Michael Anthony Panariello, 54, of Davie passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at Memorial West Hospital of complications from recently diagnosed cancer.

Michael was born on September 11, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York to Anthony and Marie (San Filippo) Panariello. He moved with his family to New Jersey at age 4 and then moved to Florida at age 10. He graduated from Cooper City High School in 1981 and earned his AA from Broward Community College.

Michael joined the Davie Police Department as a community service aide in 1982 and then became a full time officer in 1986. He was Davie's Police Officer of the Year in 1989. He retired in 2006 after 25 years of service to his community. He then joined Carnival Cruise Lines in 2007, becoming their Director of Security.

Michael was a loving father, son, and brother. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed NASCAR, the Florida Panthers, the Dolphins, the Heat and the Marlins. He enjoyed attending games and races or watching them with his many family members and friends.

He is survived by his father, Anthony Panariello and his step-mother Linda Gieseking Panariello of Davie; his mother, Marie Panariello of Weston; his children, Albert and Mikayla of Davie, Michael, Jr. and Madison of Panama City; brothers, Richard of Wabash, IN, Andrew (Lisa Clay) of Marietta, GA and Kevin (Mai) Gieseking of Tigard, OR; sister-in-law, Maria (Jon) Termo of Wellington; Uncle and Aunt Anthony and Joyce Garro of Davie; special friends, Lance (Joanne) Seltzer and Dottie Williams of Davie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 25 from 3 to 8 PM at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 2401 S. University Drive in Davie. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Davie on Thursday, July 26, at 10:00 AM with Father Peter Sutinga presiding.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital or the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The memorial guest book for Michael may be signed at FredHunters.com.
