Marvin Hansen, 79, of Glenwood, IA died on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, NE. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home with burial and military rites in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Marvin Lee Hansen, son of Harvey and Pauline (Gottsch) Hansen, was born on May 29, 1939 in Omaha, NE. Marvin graduated from technical high school in Omaha with the Class of 1958. Following graduation, he enlisted and served in the United States Army.
Marvin was united in marriage to Judith Mumma on January 11, 1964. To this union the couple was blessed with two daughters Jacqueline and Jodi. The couple divorced in 1976. Marvin married Pat (Ranne) Zanders on July 15, 1977 at the United Methodist Church in Plattsmouth, NE. His family grew to include Pat's four children, Douglas, Robin, Pam and Jill.
The couple lived in Omaha where Marvin worked for Roberts Dairy. The family later moved to live in Janesville, WI where Marvin was a truck driver for Janesville Auto Transport. Following retirement, Marvin and Pat moved to Glenwood in 1995.
Marvin enjoyed building bird houses, squirrel feeders, and playing bingo and dominoes at Linwood Estates. Marvin looked forward to breakfast once a month with the Union guys and the retired teamsters.
Marvin passed away at the Josie Harper Hospice House on July 22, 2018 at the age of 79 years, 1 month, 23 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Pat.
Marvin is survived by his children, Jacque (Leonard) Shaw of Des Moines, IA, Jodi (Greg) Brennan of Omaha, NE, Doug Zanders II of Malvern, IA, Robin (Bill) Simmons, Pam (Steve) Horton, and Jill (Jim) Baker all of Glenwood, IA; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; sister, Lavonne Bengen of Omaha, NE; loving companion Janice Lambrecht of Bennington, NE; other relatives; and a host of special friends.
