Jeanine Cole
September 22, 1938 - August 12, 2018

Jeanine Cole, age 79, of Ames, Iowa passed away August 12, 2018 at Bethany Life in Story City, Iowa. Visitation will be Friday, August 17th, from 9:00-10:30 a.m. with a memorial service at 10:30a.m. at First Baptist Church of Ames, 200 Lynn Ave, Ames, IA. Burial will be at a later date.

Jeanine was born in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Ruth (Olsen) and Leslie Sanquist of Cambridge, IL. She graduated from Cambridge School and the University of Illinois. She did her dietetics internship at the University of Washington in Seattle.

After graduation she worked at the Memorial Union in Ames, Iowa, and retired in 1977. She did three years of school lunch at Lombard, IL. Jeanine married John W. Cole on July 29, 1967. She belonged to the American Dietetics Association for fifty years, Eastern Star, P.E.O chapter LN, AARP, and A.A. for many years.

She is survived by her step son Clyde (Rebecca) Cole of Jewell; sister Joyce (Clark) Penn of Glen Ellyn, IL; two grandchildren Jennifer (Scott) Heithoff and Shawn Cole; three great grandchildren, Olivia, Tyler, Stella Heithoff; two nephews Eric Penn, Kurt Penn and his children Mia and Tessa. And long-time companion Jim Lester.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
