Juan Carlos Benitez
October 26, 1988 - August 30, 2018

Harlingen/Austin: Carlos Benitez, 29, passed away suddenly on August 30th, 2018. He was born on October 26, 1988, to Thelma and Luis Benitez in Harlingen, Texas. He was the 3rd son, always trying to keep up with his older brothers, Luis and Fred.

Carlos graduated from Harlingen High School and moved to Austin soon after. He enjoyed fishing, wrestling and watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He was also an avid gamer and won many competitions.

Carlos is preceded in death by his father, Luis Benitez.

He is survived by his mom, Thelma Benitez, two brothers, Luis Benitez and wife, Lisa Benitez, Jose Alfredo Benitez and wife, Melissa McNeil, nephews, Lucas Benitez, Noah Weston, Troy Benitez, Drew Benitez and Louie Akexander Benitez.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 3rd, from 10am-4pm, with a prayer service at 4 pm at McCaleb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Benitez, Mike Benitez, Chris Benitez, Lucas Benitez, Noah Weston, and Nicolas Solis.

Carlos will be remembered for his love of competition and easy going fun spirit, full of laughter and smiles.

If I was to keep a memory of Carlos it would be the football and kickball days we had at St Anthony's we shed laughter, fun, blood sweat and tears at that school together but he was always full of smiles and will be dearly missed RIP My friend I'll do My best to try to make it out today to say one last goodbye to a good friend God Bless you"
