In loving memory of

Nancy Todd
September 16, 1959 - September 2, 2018

Nancy Jean (Strain) Todd, 58 of Winona, died Sunday, September 2, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Nancy began her valiant fight against metastatic breast cancer in 2012. The ravages of cancer, chemo and radiation may have worn down her body and exhausted her, but it never dimmed her smile or spirit. She fought to the very end and stayed with us for as long as she could.
Nancy was born September 16, 1959 in Winona to Willard and Jean (Schrandt) Strain. She graduated from Winona Senior High. On February 14, 1976, she married the love of her life, Ron Todd, in Winona at St. Stan's Church. Nancy worked for various places including Watkins (Winona), Knitcraft (Winona), Intsys (Chandler), Honeywell (Golden Valley). In October 1992, Nancy and Ron moved the family to Gilbert, AZ and in later years split their time between Minnesota & Arizona to enjoy the best of both places. They greatly enjoyed their time in Sun City at "Rancho Relaxo" and made many good friends there.
Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family, visiting the Humane Society, shopping, traveling and trips to the casino. She and Ron continued almost daily rides in the car up until a week before she passed. Nancy had an exceptional affection for animals. She loved dogs, cats and just about any other animal. Nancy had a special love for her grandchildren Hallie & Tustin and enjoyed taking them on fun outings to places like Fawn-Doe-Rosa.
She is survived by her best friend, Ron; three children, Jason (Jodi) Todd, Melissa (Mark) Durnen and Jesse Todd; two grandchildren, Tustin Todd and Hallie Durnen; brothers, David (Ida) Keen, Richard (Mary) Keen and Jeff (Heidi) Strain; brother-in-law, Marshall Miner; her grand pup, Charlie and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and extend family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Suzanne Miner.
A Celebration of Nancy's life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, led by Funeral Celebrant Dianne Rislow. Visitation will be 10 a.m., until the time of the service. She will be laid to rest at St. Mary's cemetery.
Please share a memory of Nancy, sign her online guestbook and view her video tribute when it becomes available at www.hofffuneral.com.

"My condolences to the family. I dont have many memories of her, do to being so young when I hung out with Jesse and Melissa, but I do remember her being super kind and I was always welcomed. Jesse and Melissa turned into class acts, which says something about the parents."

"I just wanted to let you all know how sorry I am to here of Nancy passing. It is so hard to lose a loved one and especially so young. I lost my Mom last year and it really hurt and still does. My family keeps reminding me I have to dwell on the good memories we had with her and that none of us would of wanted her to go on in the pain and suffering that she had been in for such a long time, and this is so true for you all as well. Ron, you are a amazing guy to do what you have done for Nancy the past few years since I have known you is unreal. I home I can be the kind of man you have been if I am ever put in a situation that needs me to stand up like you have with putting the person in need as number one and not worry about yourself. Most of you don't know me but Ron worked for me in Rochester at Adamson Body shop for awhile and we got to be good friends more so than boss/employee. Ron is a great guy and just want you to know we are thinking of you all and praying you can turn your eyes to God in prayer and ask for peace as you say goodbye to a very special person. take care, Wayne Nielsen"

"Jeff, Rick, David and families, I am so sorry for your loss. Even though it's been many years since I moved from Winona, I have fond memories of growing up with all my cousins. May your memories of Nancy sustain you, at this time, and bring you some peace. I know she is in heaven reunited with Susie, Aunt Jean and Uncle Bill. My scincere sympathies to you all."

"My condolences to the Todd family for the loss of a wonderful member. I remember back in 2009 when Ron and Nancy were in Arizona around Christmas. We all went to this cute little neighborhood in Mesa where all the homes on the street decided to decorate their homes with Christmas lights. We walked and looked at each house as they they had different themes and decorations. Nancy was so happy, and her smile was brighter than the Christmas lights as she walked with Ron holding his hand and being around friends and family that love and care about her. Nancy?s wonderful memories will be with us forever. R.I.P Nancy and God bless the family, we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. ??"
