Bud Willis Rew, 71, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018, at his home in Hampton.
Bud was born on September 20, 1946, in Leon, Iowa, to Deloris (Sly) and Ralph Rew. He attended public school in Leon until he was 14, and then moved to Hansell after his mother Deloris married Paul Adair. Bud graduated from Hampton High School in 1964. After high school, he attended college at Hawkeye Tech (now Hawkeye Community College) in Cedar Falls and graduated with a degree in mechanics.
Bud was united in marriage to Lea Anne Wilson on April 20, 1968, at the United Methodist Church in Hampton. To this union, two children were born, Troy and Travis. Bud and Lea Anne were married for 50 years.
Bud served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. After his service, he started working for Midway Co-op until he started working for Chicago Northwestern Railroad (now known as Union Pacific Railroad) in 1972. Bud retired in 2010.
Bud loved to spend time with his family, fixing cars and anything around the house, working on trains, watching NASCAR, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, attending his grandkids' activities, and most importantly, fishing. Bud was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Hampton and was a member of the AFL-CIO since 1972.
Bud is survived by his wife Lea Anne (Wilson) Rew; son Troy Rew and his daughter Kaylea; son Travis Rew and his wife Karen (Durr) Rew and their children McKenna, Triston, and Jaxson; siblings Don Rew, Jack (Marty) Rew, Clair (Mary) Rew, Tom Adair and Tony Adair; sister-in-law Deby (Mike) Donlin; brothers-in-law David (Janelle) Wilson and Chuck (Kathy) Wilson; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Carl Rew; sister Peggy (Rew) Mateer; grandson Dawson Rew; brother-in-law Rick Wilson; and sister-in-law Bonnie Rew.
