Charles was born on August 5, 1918, on the Island, the son of Warren A. and Florence Kinsley Seright. He married S. Morean Smith Moomey on December 31, 1952. She preceded him in death on January 18, 1994.

Charles was a proud veteran serving as a mechanic in the US Army and Airforce.

He retired from John Deere as a Welder and was a member of the Moose Lodge, the American Legion, the Eagles Lodge and the Union.

Charles and his family floated a log cabin from Fairport to Kilpeck Landing, where he grew up. As a boy, he planted many pine trees on the Island. He helped his father in the blacksmith shop and invented an adjustable wrench along with the sweet potato vine cutter. He enjoyed building and repairing the sweet potato vine cutter for the farmers on the Island. He loved the Mississippi River. He always considered himself a 'River Rat' and, in his later years, asked if he was 'straight with the river'. He celebrated his 100th birthday by putting his feet in the Mississippi River.

Charles and his wife traveled a lot. He loved playing cards and going to the casino boats.

Charles is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Goddard, of Muscatine, Deloris Rhodes, of Rockford, Illinois, and Nancy Burzell, of Wisconsin; 19 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and one great great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother, Oscar M. Seright; and two daughters, Dorothy Ann Potter and Esther Goddard.

"Bonnie, Deloris and families...I am sorry to learn of Charles passing. I have wondered several times if he was still ok but never took the time to follow through and contact you Bonnie. It looks like you were a great care giver to him as he had a long life after your mother passed. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you."
