In loving memory of

Carol Jayne Townsend
December 8, 1971 - September 6, 2018

Leaving her family and loved ones with very heavy hearts and tremendous sadness, Carol Townsend died after a cardiac arrest on Sept 6. Carol was our youngest sibling and we've always cherished her in a special way, because of her status as the "baby" of the family, even as adults. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and most of all, for her deep love of her son Nathan.

Carol had many talents throughout her life - as a soccer player and goalkeeper, as an incredible soprano, and as an HR professional with tremendous business acumen and prowess - conducting her career with respect for the companies and empathy for the employees that she represented. She generously offered pro bono HR advice and consulting when friends or colleagues needed it. Her love of soccer continued into adulthood and she was a devoted Sounders fan. (Scarves up!)

We know that many of you have already heard of Carol's passing and we apologize that it has taken us so long to write this up...it's been overwhelming. We very much appreciate those of you who've already reached out to share your sympathies and sorrow with us, and to express your concern for Nathan. He is doing remarkably well and is living with Lois and John now. We'd also like to thank the Lake Cottage Presbyterian congregation - (in particular, Pastor Scott, dear friends Jennifer, Jenine & Price), the stellar staff at Overland Hospital in Bellevue, Lilliput Children's Services in Auburn CA, our extended family and cousins, our neighbors, and our lifetime friends that have reached out to offer their love and support.

A small memorial service will be held on October 21st in Los Altos, CA, near our childhood neighborhood. In lieu of flowers, we'd ask for contributions to Nathan's educational fund, or to the Lake Cottage Presbyterian Church in Woodinville, WA. Please reach out if you'd like further details about the memorial or the donations by sending an email to CarolTownsendMemorial@gmail.com.
RIP, dear Carol. We miss you, we love you and we hold you closely in our hearts.
Steve, Lois, and Amy
