"We met Bill and Dolores at a B & B in Savanah, Ga, right before St. Patty?s Day. As all college kids know it is a big party town on that holiday. Bill was on a medication so he couldn?t partake of the green Jell-O shots they were handing out at all the bars. Meanwhile, we did his share and more. Once in a while he?d mention trying to corral 3 wobbly (I think we were already senior citizens then) up the hill from the fever and back to the place. We really enjoyed that trip and were looking forward to some more like it. Bill will be so sorely missed. We love you Dolores and Danielle. Fondly, John and Stephanie"

"Thanks for pushing me. I am so to have had you in my ham life, and then my real life. I am glad that I could make you mumble to yourself, even if I may have heard 'punk' in there! I am grateful for the challenges you presented to me that made me mumble to myself! Thank you. I miss you. YES, I am wearing a badge *and* it's mine......"

"My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in Bill's passing. I always appreciated his wit, insight, and love of hearing his Delores play the piano. I especially look at his "purchase" of the "piano bench"....and smile!! He was a great guy in the few years I've known him.... he'll be sadly missed, I know! Hugs to all of you, especially Delores!!! My love.... Bonita (Grady)"

"9/12/18. Dolores & Family, I am saddened to learn of Bill's passing. I have many fond memories of him--including working the polls for him in his hotly contested & successful re-election campaign, testifying at his request in support of Community Ambulance's plan to move to Butler Pike, and his consistent support over the years of the Shade Tree Commission. Bill was a good leader and a good man! He will be missed. ---Steve Stone"
