Douglas Gerard Confessore
January 20, 1977 - August 27, 2018

Douglas (Dougie) Gerard Confessore, 41, of North Port, Florida died August 27, 2018 from faulty surgery. He was born in Daytona Beach, Florida on January 20, 1977. At the age of six weeks, Dougie was adopted by his mother Joyce Confessore Hepsworth and his father Douglas H. Hepsworth. Dougie loved the beach and won a surfing contest at the age of 4. Everyone always called him "homerun Dougie" because they knew that when Dougie got up to bat, it was sure to be a homerun! He played baseball for many years. With his infectious smile, heart of gold and caring soul, he won over many long lasting friendships and was loved by all!

Dougie is survived by his young son Gavin Confessore; his Mom Joyce Confessore Berry and his Stepfather Ronald W. Berry; his sister Stefani Stone; his closest cousin Lisa Taglienti; his best friends John Stephens, Jennifer Bernstein and Karen Bornstein; and his brother-in-law, niece, nephew, aunt, uncle, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father Douglas H. Hepsworth; paternal Grandmother and Grandfather Patricia and Leslie Hepsworth of Orange City, Florida; paternal Great Grandmother and Great Grandfather, Mom Mom and J.C. Hepsworth of Ohio; his maternal Grandmother and Grandfather Agatha and Gerard Confessore of Brooklyn, NY; and his cousin Anthony Taglienti.

A memorial will be held on September 29, 2018 by the Gulf of Mexico. Cremation services are being handled by Fred Hunter Funeral Home in Hollywood, Florida.
