Janice Faye Neitzke, 86, of Winona, died Thursday, September 13, 2018 at St. Anne Extended Health Care. She was born on April 18, 1932 to Henry and Inga (Lykkegaard) Strand in Winona. She lived her childhood on the Delta Fur and Fish Farm and later moved to Winona, graduating from Winona Senior High School. In 1951 she married Maurice Edward Neitzke and they started their family with the birth of their first child, David James, followed by Daniel Gene and Kathryn Marie. Janice worked at Wincraft for 22 years before working for Winona County until retirement. Janice was an active member of Central Lutheran Church, Sons of Norway, Winona Bowling Association, Hannah Circle at Central Lutheran, and the Sweet Adelines. She was an avid bowler, card player, gardener, and a wonderful cook. Janice loved her granddaughters and always looked forward to spending time with them.
Janice is survived by her children, Dave Neitzke, Dan (Sharon) Neitzke; granddaughters, Shelby (Robert Spence) Neitzke, Brianna Neitzke. She is preceded in death by her husband, Maurice; daughter, Kathryn; sisters, Elaine Carter, Leona Bortle.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 18 with visitation 1 hour prior at Central Lutheran Church, Winona. Private family interment at Woodlawn. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Central Lutheran Church. Please leave a memory and view her tribute video when it becomes available at hofffuneral.com.
