Muriel "Murley" Joyce Widger
Canton-Muriel "Murley" Joyce Widger, 84, of Canton, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Sunset Manor in Canton.
She was born on July 27, 1934, in Canton to Clyde and Zola (Hargis) Bowton. They preceded her in death.
She married James "Jim" Widger on November 2, 1979 at their home in Canton, He survives.
She is also survived by 15 children, Harvey "Joe" (Pat) Henderson, of Wisconsin, Winton "Tony" (Julie) Henderson, of Canton, Jeffrey (Elsie) Henderson, of North Carolina, Judy Brady, of Arkansas Wendy (the late Steve) Hilton, of Canton, Kendall (Gloria) Widger, of Texas, Michael (Alex) Widger, of Kansas, Melissa Reyes, of Moline, Samuel (Nancy) Widger, of Beecher Illinois, Sherry (Kevin) Banninga, of Macomb, Joseph Widger, of Texas, Melanie (Matthew) Barnes, of Georgia, Thomas (Kelli) Widger, of Geneseo Illinois, and Douglas (Heather) Widger, of Colona Illinois, Many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are two children, Denise Long and Susan Widger, four brothers, Bob, LaVerne, Ralph and Charles "Bud" Bowton, and one sister, Marjorie Briggs,
Muriel was a LPN, she worked at many nursing homes over the years, she was a member of the Cuba PTA, Red Hats Society, and the Dirty Dozen. She loved crafts, reading and most of all raising children.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton where visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be made out to the American Heart Association or to the Fulton County Humane Society.
