"One of my favorite Twila memories is when I went with Mark and Melanie to Twila and Dick's house right after they had gotten married. I was 14 years old and Twila offered me a cup of coffee. I had never tried it before, and she fixed it up right with cream and sugar. Best cup I've ever had, but maybe that was because of the special lady who made it. "

Mari Brady wrote on Sep 19, 2018:

"Twyla always had that special way of lifting you up when you were down without even trying or making you feel like she was obligated to do so. She wanted to lift everyone up because it was just what she did from the heart. You just knew she was blessed in so many ways after knowing her for just a few minutes, fortunately I knew her for many years. Jesus's love illuminated from her like the sun on a clear day. Twyla you will be missed and live forever in our hearts."

Carol Ronning wrote on Sep 19, 2018:

"Twila was a special lady who loved everyone and had a special sparkle. She reached out to me, a newcomer to Ponca and made me feel loved and a ceped. We had many visits with coffee, conversation and prayer. She was a woman of great faith and a woman who e emplified the Proverbs 31 woman. Her children did indeed call her blessed. She has gone to her Lord and Savior and now rests in his arms. "

"Twila was a beautiful person, loving to all around her which was many her entire life. I knew her for 28 years and she was always so sweet and nice and a joy to visit with. She always smiled and dressed to impress, always looking her best! She will be missed by many, and my heart and prayers go to all who loved her and will miss her here on earth, knowing however her place in peace and in heaven with God is the ultimate gift when we leave this earth. "If we could all radiate Jesus like Twila did!! One of my favorite memories of Twila is when I brought my Uncle Lowell to live at the nursing home in Ponca. Twila was recuperating on the independant living side but she saw to it that my often-confused and lonely Great Uncle got a pat on his arm or a special smile...and she always remembered his name. She had a special way with people....I always left Twila wanting to know her more. She had God's sparkle. Hugs and prayers to all of you left to grieve her....Twila was your familial matriarch but also I feel one of Ponca's special matriarchs! Praying God's Peace for You All, Andrea Ronning Custer, SD"
