Larry Dale Jacoba

Larry Dale Jacoba, 81, of Yarmouth, died Friday, September 28, 2018 at his home. He was born November 1, 1936 in Burlington to Dale and Lucille Sarah Reif Jacoba. On February 12, 1960 he married Daisy Mae Owens in Burlington. He was a 1955 graduate of Yarmouth High School; served in the National Guard; and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
Larry worked at C&E in Burlington and owned and operated Yarmouth Oil and Yarmouth Café. In his retirement years he volunteered at Great River Medical Center driving the shuttle bus.
He enjoyed hobby farming, sightseeing, sitting by the river watching the boats, fishing, and was a past member of the New London Country Club.
Besides his wife, Daisy, Larry is survived by two sons, Craig of West Burlington and Jeffrey of Yarmouth; four granddaughters, Danielle (Reed) Chicken, Lacy (Tony) Hawkins, Breanne Jacoba and Megan Boyd; three great-grandchildren, Kwinnley, Zachariah and Alexis; one sister, Mary Ann Walljasper of Mt. Pleasant; and four nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and son David in infancy.
The funeral service for Mr. Larry Jacoba will be held at 11:00 Friday at Peace Lutheran Church, Prairie Grove, West Burlington with Rev. Kathleen Wohlers officiating. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be held at the church with burial later at Kossuth Cemetery, Mediapolis. Visitation will begin at noon on Thursday at Elliott Chapel with the family present from 5 - 7 PM. A memorial has been established.

"My Sympathies go out to the Family of Larry. I remember him well when he worked at U.S.G. as a security Guard. He would make his rounds and stop and visit with me. It was always nice to hear his stories and to see his smiling face. "
