Sandra Kay Elphic, 78, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away October 1, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa. She was born May 24, 1940, in Hampton, Iowa, to Orville and Margaret (Fischer) Kinsel.
Sandra attended Hampton High School in Hampton, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Larry Elphic on June 8, 1974, in Hampton, Iowa. Sandra worked at Winnebago Industries in Hampton. Sandra and Larry loved camping at Mallory Park and spent every weekend in the summer around campfires with good friends and family for over 40 years. She loved her family more than anything and couldn't wait to bake and cook for everyone. She enjoyed flowers and gardening and spent many hours a day watching the birds and squirrels playing in her backyard. Her favorite vacation spot was Branson, Mo and particularly the Christmas shows because Christmas was her most loved holiday.
Sandra is survived by her daughter Cindy (Jim) Liska of Buffalo, Minnesota, daughter Rhonda Emery of Northville, Michigan, son Jeff (Tammy) Janssen of Hampton, daughter Jolynn (James) Sprung of Hampton, eight grandchildren: Cody Elphic, Kyle (Samantha) Janssen, Nick (Tasha) Janssen, Angela Martinez, Brett Janssen, Chase (Kelly) Liska, Connor and Callie Liska, seven great-grandchildren and brother Dennis Kinsel of Loomis, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Joe.

"To the family of Sandy, First I am so saddened by this news. Life for all of us will one day come to an end but knowing that doesn?t make it any easier for those we leave behind. Her home was my second home; I have so many fond childhood memories of her starting when I was just a young girl when they lived across the street. This was where I was introduced to her cooked sweet savory apples which today is still a favorite of mine.
