Donald "Butch" Paul Kobs

Donald Paul "Butch" Kobs, 85, of Danville, died Friday, October 5, 2018 in West Point.

He was born October 14, 1932 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Edward Berthold and Marie M. Liedermann Kobs. On August 6, 1968 he married Marcia Jean Fulton in Galesburg, Illinois. She preceded him in death on December 17, 2005. He served in the Army from August of 1954 until he received an Honorable Discharge in May of 1962. He worked at Champion Sparkplug and the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. He was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed fishing and reading. He was very creative and was quite the fixer-upper.

Mr. Kobs is survived by his daughter Dawn Michele Taylor and partner Paulette Appel of Des Moines; two granddaughters, Samantha and Dana Taylor; sisters, Ruth Sullivan of Fallon, Nevada, and his twin Mary O'Neill of Marion, Iowa; and brother James (Mary Lee) Kobs of Mt. Pleasant; two stepsons, David Kobs of Indiana and Mick Kobs of Burlington; four stepdaughters, Jo Anne Dill of Blandinsville, Il, Linda Schmidt of Woodland Park, CO, and Kay Calfee of Loveland, CO, Chris Herman, Mt. Pleasant; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers Edward and Robert; sisters, Dorothy Lott and Grace Kobs; and one step-son, Kenneth Kobs.
