Thomas A. Kendzia
September 28, 1928 - October 9, 2018

Thomas A. Kendzia (Tucker), age 90, of Berkeley Township, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Hampton Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation in Toms River, NJ. He was born September 28, 1928 in Middletown. He lived in Toms River for the last 24 years and prior to that in Perth Amboy.

Mr. Kendzia was in the Marine Corps, and worked many varied jobs during his life, most having to do with cars. He retired from Chrysler as a car appraiser after 17 years. He loved driving and was always willing to drive people in need almost anywhere.

Mr. Kendzia volunteered at the Kimball Medical Center for 10 years and was a Treasurer of the Italian American Club of Berkeley Twp. for 10 years. He was a charter member of the Leonardo First Aid Squad having been one of the very first members. In his spare time he loved to be out on the water, enjoying himself on his motorboat.

He was predeceased by his wife Renne Kendzia; parents Anthony & Anna Kendzia and brother Richard Kendzia. Surviving is his son Thomas A. Kendzia Jr. and his wife Melinda; step-children Gloria Temple, Joanne Bentzen and her husband Roy, and John Del Popolo. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother Teddy B. Kendzia and sister Ann Joy Isakson.

Cremation was private and entrusted to Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River.

There will be a Committal Service for the Ashes at Saint James Chapel Mausoleum in Woodbridge at 10 am on November 3, with a memorial reception at Leonardo First Aid & Rescue Squad in Leonardo to follow at 11:30 am.
