James Alfred Boylan
December 9, 1937 - October 9, 2018

James Alfred Boylan, 80, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton. He was born on December 9, 1937, in Hampton, to Willis and Beth (Ray) Boylan. After the passing of his mother, he was raised by Alfrieda and Everette Muir.

Jim graduated from Hansell High School in 1956. After graduation, he joined the Air Force in June of 1956, in Des Moines, Iowa. When Jim was stationed in Germany, he took a visit to Holland where he met his wife Anna "Lisette" Boylan. Jim and Anna were united in marriage on July 25, 1959. In his twenty years of service in the Air Force, James spent four years in Prum, Germany, one year in Nakhon Phanom, Thailand, five years in Naples, Italy, and many other locations in the United States. He was an active member of the Amvets and was proud to have served his country.

Jim is survived by his wife Anna Boylan of Hampton, Iowa, son Michel (Veronica) Boylan of Oswego, Illinois, daughter Kimberly (Joel) Orr of Hampton, Iowa, five grandchildren Roxanna (Adam) Johnson, Jonathan (fiancé Kate) Boylan, Timothy (Nicole) Boylan, Richelle (Cory) Morrissey and Reann (boyfriend Isaiah) Orr, great-grandchildren Kylin Johnson, Adra Johnson, Emerli Johnson and Mara Boylan.

He was preceded in death by his parents Willis and Beth, Alfrieda and Everette, sister Caroline and brother-in-law Bob Carlstrom, brother David Muir, sister Marcia and brother-in-law Leonard Root.
