"I was so sorry to see that John passed away in September. I also worked with him at ShowCase/SPSS/IBM. I was on the Tech Support side of things and we always reported problems to members of the test group including John. John always had a ready smile and joked with all of us. I have warm memories of John. My condolences to his family. Kathy Maegerlein"

"Please accept my condolences. John was a wonderful dedicated person. I am saddened to hear of his passing. At the same time I am warmed by many memories - many involving his sense of humor. I recall once when everybody at ShowCase/SPSS brought in something to share for the holidays. I brought in rum balls. John discovered them while we were grazing. "Wow, these have kick!". Nobody else was eating them. As the joking started we decided to keep them covered so that they would not dry out - and so nobody else would find them! John and I laughed and joked as we proceeded to work on them throughout the day. He will be missed. Steve Gau "
