In loving memory of

Florice Mary (Pueschel) Kolb
October 27, 1922 - October 15, 2018

Florice Mary (Pueschel) Kolb, 95, of Latimer, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018, at the Sheffield Care Center in Sheffield. She was born on October 27, 1922, in Rudd, Iowa, to William and Ula (Hoffman) Pueschel.

Florice was child number two of five. During her high school years, she played English horn in the band and worked on the school paper. After graduation from Rudd High School in 1940, Florice worked as a cook at the school. Later, she was employed in the office at Hoover's Hatchery in Rudd for several years.

Florice was a great cook and baker, known for her butter horn rolls, pies of all kinds and angel food cakes made from scratch. She enjoyed singing in the choir, dancing and bowling on a team. After her mother passed away in 1951, Florice took over the responsibilities of the home, caring for her father and the rearing of her younger brother.

Florice met her future husband, Vincent Kolb, while dancing at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake on Friday nights. It wasn't long before they were married in Rudd on November 15, 1968, and made their home in Latimer. They were both active in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church where Florice sang in the choir. After retirement, they enjoyed bingo, dog races and wintering in Arizona. Florice and Vincent were married 48 years before Vince's passing in November 2016.

Florice is survived by her sister Arduth Seever; brothers Milton Pueschel and Wayne (Donna) Pueschel; stepson Doug Kolb; stepdaughter Pat (Mike) Ward; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vincent Kolb; parents William and Ula Pueschel; and brother Aloys Pueschel.

No visitation will be held. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Latimer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Sheffield Care Center, 100 Bennett Drive, Sheffield, Iowa 50475, in memory of Florice.
