"How can I leave a single memory I have a lifetime of them. These past 5 years have been especially great. We became closer than we ever were. She was there for me when mom died and stayed close till the day she passed. She was a woman of grace and forgiveness. She had a huge heart with enough love for everyone who came into her life. We spoke on the phone almost daily but texted at all hours of the day or night. When she would visit with us and stay for a week or two we would spend hours in the kitchen talking, cooking, cleaning. I could be myself around her. NOTHING I ever said would surprise her. The one thing I really remember is I NEVER heard her complain. I would call her and complain about work, something, or someone. She would never interrupt she'd let me finish and then say" Remember what your mother taught you - you pick yourself up by your bootstraps and keep going-don't look back. And OH -- get over it". She made me laugh. She was just at my house about 2 weeks ago she really hadn't been feeling well- but I told her you can just as easily feel Lousy here as you can home alone. She in her own intimadable style - sure why not. And she would ask if I was ready to take this on -. Take what on I got the space I got the food I'm retired now. We had planned day trips for her next visit places we could go and see in a day. But She took this last trip alone. I will miss here kindness, her forgiveness, her understanding but most of all her love. Thank you Aunt Jo for all you have given me, taught me, and for loving me so unconditionally. What My Aunt Meant To Me Author Unknown Aunts have no wands or wings, So they work with wisdom, love, and things. Having taken on this role, You loved me right down to my soul. You offered kindness And greetings with a hug and kiss, Each freely out of love which I will miss. I chose a twinkling star in the sky at night , To say a prayer for you to it?s bright light. You?re in God?s Heavens now and no longer in pain, In my thoughts, you?ll always remain How lucky I was, How blessed I?ve been, You were more than my Aunt, You were also my friend. I love you and miss you Aunt Jo. "
