In loving memory of

Armando Parajon
July 7, 1933 - October 22, 2018

Armando Parajon, 85, died
peacefully on Monday, October 22,
2018 at Tidewell Hospice after a brief
illness.
Armando was born in Havana,
Cuba on July 7, 1933 to Armando
Parajon and Ana Alberto. He moved to
the United States in 1946 to attend
Georgia Military Academy in College
Park, Ga. It was quite the adjustment
to go from plantains and black beans
and rice to discovering a southern,
staple food like grits. However, with a little bit of time,
Armando became quite fond of his new country. He also
became life-long friends with some other young, latin
teenage boys that were like family to him. He would often
recall memories from GMA and share a few laughs with
others about the mischief he and his friends would have.
After graduating from GMA, Armando attended Georgia
Institute of Technology, where he studied and earned his
degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a proud and
faithful Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech all his adult life.
While at GT, he met his wife of 59 years, Shelby Jean
Russell. They raised 3 children, Kent Douglas, Richard
Alan, and Ana Teresa Parajon. Armando was a successful,
self-employed Mechanical Engineer. His company, ASARK
Consultants, designed many of the heating/AC/plumbing
systems throughout many buildings in the metro Atlanta
area. Armando and his wife lived in Peachtree City, Ga.
until they decided to make a change in 2015 and move to
Sarasota, Fla. to be closer to their daughter and grandson.
Armando had a zest for life and was the life of the party
wherever he went. He was a stranger to no one and friend
to all. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him
and loved him.
Armando is survived by his wife, Shelby, their children,
Kent, Richard, and Ana, and grandchildren, Armand and
Trevor.
"Feet, what do I need you for when I have wings to fly?"
It's your time to fly, Dad.
Memorial service to be announced at a later date.
