Elaine Brown
November 5, 1931 - October 27, 2018

Elizabeth Elaine Brown, 86, of Fort Dodge, formerly of Allison, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Villa Care Center in Fort Dodge. She was born November 5, 1931, in Taylorville, Illinois, to John and Virginia (Dees) Ronchetto.

Elaine graduated from Taylorville High School in Taylorville, Illinois. She was united in marriage to Dale Brown on June 25, 1949, in Taylorville, Illinois. Elaine retired from the Iowa Department of Human Services in 1992. She was a long time member of St. James Lutheran Church in Allison.

Elaine participated in the church choir and the Women's ELCA. She liked to fish and hunt for morel mushrooms. Elaine took great pride in vegetable and flower gardening. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and would go over the top when guests were being served. Elaine really enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a fan of the Iowa State football and basketball teams and loved the tailgating atmosphere. Elaine looked forward to family gatherings and catching up with all. She had a blast in the family games that were played. Sometimes so much, she'd blurt out answers for the other team! Several years in a row, Elaine would hand out poppies for each mother on Mother's Day at St. James Lutheran Church. She loved doing things that would make others happy.

Elaine is survived by her daughter Bernita (Ron) Norine of Fort Dodge, son Dave Brown of Nevada, daughter Jaime (Calvin) Helmus of Rock Valley, daughter Charlene (Steve) Fink of Columbia, South Carolina, ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren with one on the way, brother Louis (Marilyn) Tognacci of Chandler, Arizona, brother James Tognacci of Fountain Hills, Arizona and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Ned Tognacci, husband Dale Brown, son Michael Brown, grandson Thomas Brown, sister Margie Tilton, brother Jack Ronchetto, nephew Mark Tognacci, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law.
