August Thurmer wrote on Nov 21, 2018:

"Kent was perhaps one of the kindest men that I have ever met. His desire was to spread the gospel to so many seeking our Lord Jesus Christ. From sharing Christ in the jails to handing out Bibles at the county fairs, Kent never stopped in wanting others to know our Savior. It was my privilege to have served next to Kent, and as well as getting to know him. Once when going out to coffee with Kent, I saw him walk up to a young lady and kindly offer her a Gideon Bible, she was so appreciative of this gesture while taking it. I thought to myself, "I will do the same!" Watching Kent's boldness gave me strength to do the same. May his memory be a strength to those he has left behind and an encouragement for the many who came to know Jesus through his ministry. Rest in peace my friend! August Thurmer"

"Ida Mae and family?so sorry for the loss of Kent. I knew him for 11 years as a member of the Gideons. When I first started with the Gideons you tend to listen and learn from the veterans?the other more experienced members. Kent shared his opinion often. His voice was firm but interesting. He was always interested in volunteering for Gideon activities that involved sharing the Word of the Lord and handing out bibles. He loved visiting with pastors at churches, jail ministry and giving Gideon presentations. He attended many Gideon State Conventions where he renewed old friendships. As a Gideon member and a friend?he?ll be missed."

"I always loved seeing Kent walk into the church with Ida Mae. I will remember him for his great handshake and his genuine love for all of us. Quite the man. I loved his Gideon presentations. I was always so thankful for all the fish he supplied me with through the years. I am sure he heard upon his arrival at his new forever home, "Well done, My good and faithful servant!" Kent is no longer hurting and struggling to breathe. His unique smile is on his face. See you Kent!! "
