Joe Puetz
November 15, 1922 - November 3, 2007

Joe Puetz age 84 of Maquoketa Iowa and formerly of Baldwin Iowa died on Saturday morning November 32007.0 at the Maquoketa Care Center in Maquoketa Iowa.



Joint celebration of life services will be held with his wife Ann at 11 A.M. Friday November 92007.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Tuesday November 62007.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Burial will be in the Canton Iowa Cemetery. Ann died on November 6 2007 at the age of 77.



Joe Puetz was born on November 15 1922 in Hillsbro North Dakota to Peter Puetz and Mary Elizabeth (Warborg) Puetz. He married Gloria Ann Bickford on July 25 1951 at St. Peter's Catholic Church at Temple Hill Iowa.



Joe had first worked for Clinton Engines in Maquoketa as an inspector. He then worked for Earles Construction and had farmed in several areas of Jackson County for many years retiring to Baldwin in 1986.



Joe enjoyed the outdoors and doing woodworking. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved driving his John Deere tractors. He was known by his family for having a great sense of humor and someone who joked with them right up until the end.



Joe is survived by: his wife- Ann Puetz of Maquoketa IA; children- Cecilia (Don) Hepker of Maquoketa IA Jo Ellen (Chris) Stender of Bernard IA & Chuck (Alice) Puetz of Monmouth IA; 7 grandchildren 8 great-grandchildren; a sister- Frances Deppe of Edgewood IA; sisters-in-law- Theresa Puetz of Earlville IA & Nelda Bailey of Tucson AZ; & brothers-in-law- Jim Bickford of Maquoketa IA & Gerry Bickford of Tucson AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents 4 sisters & 3 brothers.



A Joe Puetz Memorial Fund has been established.
