Ruth A. Burcham, 80, of Coleridge, NE, formerly of Sioux City, IA passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at her residence in Coleridge, NE.

Celebration of Life will be from 1:00-5:00 P.M., with a prayer service at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Abu Bekr Shrine Temple, 820 Nebraska Street, Sioux City, IA. Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca, NE is handling arrangements.

Ruth was born on May 17, 1938 in Chicago, ILL, the daughter of Anhodsis and Rose (Guse) Theodosis. She graduated from East High School in Sioux City and attended Morningside College. Ruth married Edwin Burcham in 1959 and they were blessed with two children. Edwin passed away in 1995. She worked as a postal carrier in Elgin, ILL and Sioux City, IA before becoming a postmaster in several towns in Iowa, retiring from Mapleton, IA after 35 years of service. She also worked for the League of Human Dignity in Nebraska for a short period of time.

Ruth's family was very important to her and she loved spending time with them. She also enjoyed being involved with the Women of the Shriners and Cherokee Ridge Runners.

Survivors include her children, Dawn (Bernie) Tutt of Akron, IA and David Burcham of Coleridge, NE; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rosemarie Stewart of Chicago, ILL.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 1 sister; and 3 brothers.
