Karl Allen Herber
February 12, 1959 - November 1, 2018

ROLLINGSTONE, MN - Karl A. Herber, 59, of Rollingstone, MN died on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at his home.
Karl was born on February 12, 1959, in Wabasha, MN to Harold and Marlene (Dorsch) Herber. He was raised in Rollingstone, attended Lewiston High School and graduated from Winona Vocational School in the small engine repair program. He was united in marriage to Beth Kazemba on April 5, 1986. Karl worked as a mechanic and a farmer on the family farm for many years. In his later years he started his own business, Radiator Specialties, as well as doing custom farming field work. His free time was spent with family and friends, as well as endlessly giving back to the community: 22 years with the Rollingstone First Responders, serving Meals on Wheels like his Dad, Altura Lions Club, Rollingstone Activity Group, Rollingstone Jaycees, American Dairy Association, Winona Area Warming House volunteer, and a Salvation Army bell ringer. His hobbies included fishing, camping at Bass Camp, boating and motor sports. Karl was a man with a hard exterior and a warm and generous heart.
He is survived by his wife, Beth: three children: Erik (Stephanie) Herber of Chandler, AZ, Ethan (Alana) Herber of Rochester, MN, and Elissa (Donny) Herber of Eagan, MN; three grandchildren: Chase, Kali and Karlee; siblings: Mary (Ron) Barber, Jeanne (Greg) Erickson, Tony Herber, Dave (Denise) Herber, Mark (Darline) Herber, and Brent (Autumn) Herber; mother and father-in-law, Sharon and Patricia Kazemba; and by numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in law and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joseph.
The family prefers memorials directed to the Rollingstone First Responders or to the Rollingstone Senior Citizens Sunshine Fund.
There will be a memorial service for Karl at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at the Pleasant Valley Church in Winona, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview, MN is assisting the family with arrangements.

"Karl was a phenomenal and dedicated First Responder volunteer to the community of Rollingstone. It was my privilege to serve his responder squad for many years as the city clerk of Rollingstone. Karl's love of commitment to helping so many, in so many ways was an testament and a description of what the word volunteer really means. I am sure Karl, that you are continuing to volunteer in the same way and driving down the hill to be the first one on the scene in heaven! Sharron Behrens"
