David H. Chubb
February 26, 1929 - November 6, 2018

David H. Chubb, 89, of Burlington died Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Burlington Care Center.
Born February 26, 1929 in Burlington, he was the son of Jacob and Hilma (Hoglund) Chubb. He married Bess Dalrymple on April 20, 1952, she died November 17, 2005.
David was an Army veteran. He worked as a photographer for National Studio and continued on as a photographer for J.I. Case for 30 years. After his retirement he worked as a draftsman for Great River Medical Center.
He was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church, Eagles Aerie #150, Moose Lodge #527, Des Moines Masonic Lodge AF&AM #1, Shriner's, American Legion, VFW, the Jazz Club and a former member of Carthage Lake Club.
He loved to golf, and earned 6 hole-in-one's! He enjoyed bowling, archery, target shooting, coin and stamp collecting and was a musician. He treasured his time wintering in the South in Gulfport, MS.
Survivors include his three children; Valerie (Steve) Bohlen of Ames, IA, Jan Chubb-Parris of Burlington and Ken (Pat) Chubb of Gardner, KS; seven grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; companion, Mary Lou Kitterman of Burlington; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter in infancy, son-in-law Steve Parris and one brother James Chubb.
The funeral service for Mr. Chubb will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 9th at Lunning Chapel. The Rev. David Bracht-Wagner will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The Masonic Rite will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, November 8th at Lunning Chapel followed by visitation with the family present until 8:00 p.m.
Memorials have been established for the Shriner's Childrens Hospital, Great River Hospice or West Hill United Methodist Church.
