Tributes

Mary Hewett (former Executive Director of the DAC) wrote on Nov 11, 2018:

"I was sad to read of Julie's death. I was the Director of the DAC for many years when Julie attended the program. She was a unique lady with a sense of humor and always a purpose behind her actions. I remember when we had talent shows and parents and caregiving staff would attend. Julie always surprised people with her talents in dance and interpretation. She loved to dress up in the costumes and to be on the stage. She was so lucky to be part of the H&CO family. The love and care they provided her was outstanding! I will be out f town on Monday heading for South Dakota to visit my sisters so I will not be able to attend her memorial service. My deepest sympathy to her family and to H&CO staff and roommates who were also her family. She is the third DAC participant who has passed away in the last couple of months. They were truly my friends and the memories will be in my heart forever. From Mary Hewett"
