July 31, 1931 - November 8, 2018

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Graettinger, Iowa. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Inurnment will take place in St. Jacob's Catholic Cemetery, Graettinger following the funeral mass.

Regina Ann Thomsen "Jeannie", the daughter of Henry and Anastasia Thiel, was born on July 31, 1931 and peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Lakeside Lutheran Nursing Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa at the age of 87 years.
Jeannie graduated from Ringsted High School. On April 22, 1953, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Thomsen (Larry) at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Graettinger. The couple made their home and farmed three miles northwest of Graettinger until their retirement when the moved to town. When Jeannie wasn't having coffee up town, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing cards and taking sister trips with Joleen and Kay.

Jeannie was active in her church and community. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, loved to play bingo and spent many hours watching beautiful birds in both Iowa and Arizona.

Jeannie is survived by her five children: Gary Thomsen, his wife, Jane of Scottsdale, Arizona and their children: Megan (Jeff) and Stephanie; Cecilia "DD" Thomsen and Pete Olson of Onamia, Minnesota; Jerome Thomsen of Honolulu, Hawaii and his children: Sheila and Jason; Loren Thomsen of Graettinger and his children: Myles and Luke and Thomas Thomsen of Graettinger; brother, Chuck Thiel, his wife Pat of Graettinger and their son, Charlie; brother-in-law, Lloyd Peterson of Graettinger and sisters-in-law: Ann Thomsen of Estherville and Nancy Stepanovich (Jim) of Sunland, California. She has been preceded in death by her husband, Larry, parents, and sisters: Joleen Petersen and Kay Thiel.
