Glenn A. Berndt
August 4, 1938 - November 10, 2018

Glenn A. Berndt, age 80 of Antigo, died Saturday, November 10, 2018, with his loving wife at his side after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born on August 4, 1938, in Antigo, a son of the late Alfred and Opal (Wolf) Berndt. He married Sharon Adamski on August 31, 1961, at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo.

Glenn graduated from Antigo High School with the class of 1957.

He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1966. He was stationed in Korea

Glenn was a welder for Wisconsin Bridge and Iron, Antigo for many years. He was also employed at Suick Furniture World and Gallenberg Equipment. During his retirement, he worked as an assembler at Walmart.

He enjoyed playing horseshoes, camping, cutting wood, trout fishing, and spending time in his workshop. He loved reading to his grandchildren and traveling with his wife Sharon.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; two sons, Ron (Angel) Berndt of Wausau and Raymond (Julie) Berndt of Antigo; two daughters, Brenda (Joseph) Pietila of Bruce Crossing, MI and Robyn Berndt of Wausau; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon, Dyllon, Caleb, Kersey (Amanda), Keegan, Lindsay (Derek) and John; a great-granddaughter, Aria; a sister, Winona Arndt of Antigo; two sisters-in-law, JoAnn Berndt of Appleton and Beverly Varga-Berndt of Antigo.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son in infancy, John; three brothers, Lyle, Lauren (Susan) and Leon; and two sisters, Rita Nieuwenhuis and Gladys (Gene) Kressel; and brother-in-law, Ronald Arndt.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Mathew Simonar officiating. Antigo Veterans will conduct military honors at the church following Mass. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, November 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home

A parish wake service will be held on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

A special thank you to the staffs of Aspirus Home Care and LeRoyer Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Glenn and his family.
