James Brennan
August 15, 1923 - November 6, 2018

James J. Brennan, Sr., 95, of Manchester, New Hampshire, passed away on the 6th of November, 2018 in Plantation, Florida.

James was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts to James C. Brennan and Belle Pearl on the 15th of August, 1923. He went to school at various locations that included Lawrence, Boston, Littleton, New Hampshire and Manchester, New Hampshire. He enlisted in the US Army in 1942 and was assigned to the 82nd Airborne in late 1943 and was then assigned to a Parachute Artillery Battalion for participation in World War II. Besides World War II, he was in artillery units that saw action in the Korean War and was in action in the Viet Nam War. For his actions in these wars, he was awarded, amongst other awards, the Bronze Star, Legion of Merit and the Netherland Order of William Orange Lanyard. He was involved in youth sports at various bases he was assigned to and Sweeny Post of the American Legion.

Mr. Brennan is preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie (Simpson) Brennan, and his second wife, Constance (McLean) Brennan. He was also preceded in death by two sons; Arthur E. and Robert J., both of who passed away from complications from tours of duty in Viet Nam.

Mr. Brennan is survived by his son, James J. Jr. of Las Vegas, and his daughter, Dianne (Brennan) Purcell of California. Also surviving James are stepchildren Gordon McLean, Randall McLean and Michael McLean. James also has thirteen grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
