Keith L. Henley, 87, of Columbia City, passed away at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, IN. He was born on October 7, 1931 in Wayne County, IN. He was the son of John Eddy and Hazel M. (Ohmit) Henley.
He graduated from Lincoln High School, Cambridge City, IN with the Class of 1949. He served in the United States Air Force for 22 years of service from 1951-1973. He married Beverly A. Lepley on July 19, 1958 in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Henley was a Real Estate Agent for 35 years in Fort Wayne from 1972-2007. He first worked for Richard Lamar Real Estate and then Mike Thomas Associates for over 20 years. Keith spent time in Fort Wayne from September of 1956 until 1991 when he moved to Columbia City. He was a member of the Columbia City United Methodist Church, the American Legion, Disabled Vets and the Air Force Association. Keith was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed his travel in Alaska.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 60 years, Beverly A. Henley of Columbia City; 1 son, Keith L. (Megan) Henley, Jr., of Fort Wayne; 3 daughters, Debra L. (Peter) Stinson, Auburn, Diane "Lisa" (Eric) Taylor, Glen Allen, VA and Julie A. (Kevin) Salesman, Columbia City; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorothy Wissler.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes, A Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City and from 9-10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the Columbia City United Methodist Church, 605 Forest Parkway, Columbia City. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Graveside committal services will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne with Military Rites conducted by the Whitley County Korean War Veteran's Honor Guard. Memorials may be given in memory to either the Columbia City United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Whitley County Historical Society.
