"I know its a little late but I was Natalie and Bobs great grand daughter. I remember every time I went down to my great grand parents house it was one of my favorite places to be. I still think about my amazing grandmother all the time. How she always made her great apple pie for me, and how she called me Olivia instead of Sophia, and how she always was so kind even when we accidentally broke one of her angels. Her smile was so amazing. I miss her more than the world can imagine. Rest in peace grandma and grandpa! I love you."

A funeral service for Natalie N. Shipman, 86, of Corwith, will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Corwith with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, November 30, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Corwith. Burial will be at 11:30 AM on Sunday, December 2, 2018 in Corwith Cemetery .
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Corwith.
Natalie Nadine (Tindall) Shipman was born August 16, 1932 in Carbon, near Corning, Iowa. The family moved to the Corwith area in 1942. She was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, in LuVerne, Iowa.
Natalie was Miss Corwith in 1949. She graduated from Corwith High School in 1950, and attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City, Iowa. She was employed by the Corwith State Bank. On May 16th, 1954, she married Bob Shipman, at Zion Lutheran Church in LuVerne. They lived on a farm near Corwith and had five children. Natalie was employed part time at Wagner's Grocery Store in Corwith, and in the Corwith Hardware store, owned by her parents. She also worked for Pat Waltman making cornhusk dolls and flowers.
Besides being a devoted wife and mother, Natalie was a multi-talented lady. She was known for her cooking and baking skills, especially her apple pie and potato salad. She was a master gardener and canned many fruits and vegetables, and her freezer was full of food to share with her family. Her flower beds made the farm a showplace, and she took great pride in them. Her favorite pets most recently, were a dog named Lily, and a Siamese Cat, Sammy, who kept her company the past three years.
Natalie had a potter's wheel and kiln in the basement, and enjoyed making pottery as a hobby, giving some away as gifts, and selling some in stores around the state. Natalie was a seamstress, and made clothes for her children, grandchildren, and did alterations for family and friends.
Natalie was the one to call to make reservations for the Corwith Alumni Dinner on Memorial Day. She was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Corwith. She belonged to the Esther circle, had served on church council and assorted committees, sang in the choir, and was a Sunday school teacher many, many years. Her faith was an inspiration to her family. Natalie lived for the holidays and was proud to have the family all together in church on Christmas Eve. Anyone who knew Natalie, knew her love of angels. Angels are everywhere in her home and yard, and she always wore an angel pin or necklace, as a symbol of peace, joy, strength, and love.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mark Shipman of Corwith, Tom Shipman of St. Benedict, Roberta (Dwight) Widen of Latimer, Iowa, Rebecca (Tom) Poe of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Eloise "Eller" Shipman, Corwith. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a brother, Duane (Corwith), sisters-in-law Bev Tindall (Clear Lake), and Betty Shipman (Corwith), and many nieces and nephews.
Natalie was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, a son, Timothy; her parents, James and Edna Tindall, two brothers, James Tindall Junior, and Oscar Tindall.
