MUSCATINE, Iowa - Susie A. Stanbro, 81, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

There will be a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2018, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Susan Bantz will officiate. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Susie was born on August 8, 1937, in Muscatine, the daughter of Francis and Ethel Dipple Rinnert. She married Robert Stanbro, they later divorced but stayed very close until his death in 2011

She retired from HON after 39 years of service. She enjoyed volunteering with Bingo at the nursing home. She also enjoyed playing cards, watching her son's race motocross and BMX, going to the casino, and playing bingo. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially spoiling her grandchildren. Susie took in 39 foster children as well as her children's friends "sharing her heart of gold."

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Darrell W. Stanbro and fiancé, Jennifer, Kevin R. Stanbro and wife, Bonnie, and Marty A. Stanbro, all of Muscatine; 10 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a special lifelong friend, Carolyn Geertz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Edmond and Marvin Rinnert; and one sister, Joy.
