"Deepest condolences to the family at this sad time and I especially remember her smile Donna Prioleau and family Uncle Vincent 's niece Donna Anderson "
It is with great sadness that we announce on November 28th, 2018 the passing of Tecla Grzybek. At the age of 88, she passed away alongside of her family peacefully in her home in Plantation. As a mother, grandmother, sibling, and friend, Tecla touched the lives of all she knew.
Tecla was born on January 4th, 1930 in Northampton, PA, where she grew up alongside her nine brothers and sisters. In 1950, she moved down to South Florida, where she met her husband Vincent. She loved to tell the story of how the two of them met while Vinny was enlisted in the Marines. The way she told it, he quickly won her over with his good looks and charm. They got married in 1954 and established their home in Hialeah. Together, Tecla and Vinny began a large family having 4 children, Keith, Kevin, Benny, and Kim.
As the family began to grow, Tecla came to be lovingly known and referred to solely as "Grandma". She was referred to this title because of her great love and involvement in the lives of all of her grandchildren.
Tecla was selfless, kind, and caring. Everyone enjoyed her constant cheer. A big meal at "grandma's" house was the highlight of the month.
Tecla lived a long life. She was able to see her children grow to start their own families and cherished being able to watch her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. Along with her brothers and sisters, Tecla joins her son, Kevin, in heaven. We know that she is at peace and will continue to look down upon us all.
Tecla is survived by her husband, Vincent; sons, Keith (Becky) and Benjamin (Nieves); daughter, Kim (Tom); grandchildren, Kristi, Katie (Justin), Kevin, Stormi, and Sommer; and great grandchild, Khloe.
Please join us all in celebrating her life on Saturday, December 8th, 2018 at 3PM at All Saints Catholic Church in the Chapel; Reception to follow in the hall.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Broward County Humane Society, 2070 Griffin Road; Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33312 or
