Billy Dean Allfree, age 81 of Colfax, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax. Burial will take place at Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The son of James and Myra (Baker) Allfree, Billy was born on December 3, 1936 in Newton, Iowa. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1956. On March 26, 1967, he was united in marriage to Sandra Miller. Billy served in the United States Navy for a short time and the retired from the United States Air Force. Following his military career he worked at Artistic in Altoona. He loved to go hunting, fishing bird watching, camping and collecting coins.
Those left to honor his memory include his two sons, James (Dannielle) Allfree and Terry Allfree; two grandchildren, Christina Allfree and Hallie Allfree; two great grandchildren, Braxton and Jameson; a sister Dorothy Probasco and a brother, Richard Allfree. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife in 2005 a sister, Betty Swihart; and three brothers, Jack Allfree, Kenneth Allfree and Bob Allfree.
