Donald J. Hutchinson
January 8, 1935 - December 4, 2018
Donald J. Hutchinson, died Tuesday at his home in Upper Gwynedd after an illness, he was 83 years old.
Donald was born in Berlin, Germany to missionary parents, the late James and Ellen "Nellie" Hutchinson.
Mr. Hutchinson was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years Janet Carol (nee Schulz) Hutchinson in 1989 and his grandson Joshua Hutchinson in 2013.
Donald attended Le Tourneau Technical Institute of Texas in 1954 and served in the US Army in the 5th Infantry Division in 1956.
Mr. Hutchinson was a generous man who worked as the Church Custodian for the Church Of The Open Door In Fort Washington for 40 years prior to his illness. He also enjoyed driving cars part time for auto auctions and dealerships in Montgomery County.
Mr. Hutchinson attended Faith Community Church in Roslyn where he served as an elder, and Church of the Open Door where he was an active member, often attending weekly bible studies and small group meetings. He was a lover of classic automobiles, an avid photographer and stamp collector. Donald enjoyed reading, concerts, animals, travel and nature.
Donald is the devoted father of Kevin D. Hutchinson and his wife Lisa of Ambler, and Lori L. Stidham and her husband Todd of Abington. He leaves two grandchildren Michael and Erica. Donald is the brother of the late Dorothy Bunn and Brother in law of Norris Bunn of Moneta, Virginia and their children David, Kimberly, Norris Jr., and Melinda.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday December 8, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Church of the Open Door 1260 Fort Washington Ave Fort Washington, PA with a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Glen Jago, Pastor, Officiating.
