A memorial service to celebrate the life of Geoffrey "Geoff" Chancey will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 in the RiverCrest Chapel, Bixby. Geoff passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in Tulsa. He was 35.
Born June 1, 1983 in Augusta, Kansas, Geoffrey Vincent Chancey was the third of four children gifted to Larry Chancey and Donece (Warminski) Woods. Geoffrey or "Geoff" would be welcomed by two older brothers: Ezekiel and Nathaniel and would later become a big brother to sister, Elizabeth. Raised in Kansas, Geoff would attend school in Augusta and Garden Plain, Kansas where he became a high school graduate. Following, he would further his education by attending Wyotech Institute.
Geoff was a very loved son, brother, uncle, friend, mentor, nephew and grandson. His beaming personality, his genuine smile, and heartfelt words of encouragement will never be forgotten. His love of cars, art, photography, OU sports, his family and his faith will live on through those closest to him.
Geoff ended his 15 year battle with brain cancer on December 5th, 2018 at the young age of 35. Throughout his whole fight, he always managed to make everyone around him smile. He made friends in every waiting room, on every hospital floor, every doctors office, and every recovery room. When he left a room, his positivity remained.
Described as gentle, caring, selfless, brave, inspirational and a hero. His example has been an inspiration to countless others and his presence will be sorely missed by those family and friends he leaves to cherish his memory.
Geoff, nor his Geoffisms will soon be forgotten. He is survived by: his father and step-mother, Larry and Linda Chancey; his mother and step-father, Donece and Dale Woods; siblings: brother, Zeke Chancey and wife, Amanda and their children: Penelope, Finley, Porter and Campbell; brother, Nathan Chancey and wife, Kelly and child: Maxwell and sister, Elizabeth Schmidtberger and husband, A.J. and their children: Brennan and Lilly; paternal grandfather, Kenneth Chancey; maternal grandmother, Rosa Bilderback; step-siblings: Josh Fraser and wife, Misti and their son, Rustin; Todd Fraser and his daughter, Fiona; Christin Woods, Michele Miley and husband Steve, John Woods, Jammee Joe Young and husband Jay.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Donald Warminski, his paternal grandmother Betty Chancey, his cousin Carson Deeder and his aunt Connie Barjas.
