Don H. McPherson age 84 of Maquoketa Iowa died on Tuesday morning March 72006.0 at his home in rural Maquoketa Iowa.



A celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday March 102006.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. on Thursday March 92006.0 at the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery Maquoketa Iowa where full military rites will be accorded by the Maquoketa American Legion Post #75 Maquoketa VFW Post #3633 O'Connor-Regenwether & the Andrew AMVETS Post #62.



Don H. McPherson was born on November 1 1921 in Jackson County Iowa to Daniel Harrison McPherson and Virginia Esther (Owen) McPherson. He was educated in rural Jackson County country schools. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a military policeman. He married Betty Watters on November 22 1946 in Camanche Iowa.



Don farmed all of his life in the rural Maquoketa area. He also sold Naeve seed corn and raised and sold feeder pigs.



Don was a member of the Maquoketa American Legion Post #75 and the Jackson County Farm Bureau Association. He loved farming and his family playing cards old tractors and going to farm sales.



Don is survived by: his wife- Betty McPherson of Maquoketa IA; a daughter- Bonnie (Mrs. Adrian) Browne of Maquoketa IA; 2 grandsons- Chris (Carrie) Browne of Baldwin IA & Nathan (Caryn Welch) Browne of Maquoketa IA; 4 great-grandchildren; & a sister- Virginia Werden of Waukon IA. He was preceded in death his parents a son- Bruce McPherson 3 brothers- Kenneth Aldean & Earl & a sister- Vera Burnett.



A Don H. McPherson Memorial Fund has been established.
