Betty McPherson Hayes, 91, of Burlington died Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Burlington Care Center.
Born December 17, 1927 in Croton, Iowa she was the daughter of William McKinley and Bertha (Raines) McPherson. She married Cecil Hayes on December 28, 1952. He died May 14, 2002.
Betty was an accounts payable clerk. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist. She enjoyed collecting dolls, reading and church activities.
Survivors include her five children; Susan Hayes of Des Moines, Iowa, Beverly Hayes of Burlington, Jon (Sandie) Hayes of Burlington, Todd Hayes of Des Moines, Iowa and Stephen (Karmen) Hayes of Denver, Colorado; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Elbertine Kleber of Des Moines, Iowa, Vera Schleif of West Burlington and Alice Ray of Denver, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Larry Hayes, one sister and four brothers.
The memorial funeral service for Mrs. Hayes will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, December 30th at Lunning Chapel. Pastor Joe Arellano will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Croton Cemetery, Croton, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
A memorial has been established for the Alzheimer's Association.
According to her wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
