Mista L. Harms, 101 of Rock Port, Missouri passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Fairfax Community Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah with Pastor Rick Sleyster officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. There will be open visitation at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.

Memorials may be directed to the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Rock Port.

On December 12, 1917 in Hamburg, Iowa Emet and Viola (Starnes) Lewis welcomed a daughter, Mista Lena into the world. Mista lived a full life of 101 years, entering into eternal peace on December 27, 2018 in Fairfax, Missouri.

Mista attended school in Bingham and Coin. She was united in marriage to Elmer Harms and the couple later divorced. During WW II Mista worked in an aircraft factory painting the numbers on the planes headed to war. She later worked in various homes, assisting her clients with their daily needs. She was a woman of simple means, who would share with you the last crumb of bread. She always wanted to give.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Dorothy Alvis, Dollita Johnston, Delouise Pitner, Lavaun Hanesworth and Evelyn Shepherd and brother E.L. Lewis.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister Nedra Griffith of Kansas City, 6 nieces, 6 nephews, many great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and nursing home staff and friends.
