Helen passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Elm Heights Care Center.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2018 at the Veterans Chapel in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church.

Helen Lucille Thompson was born on January 20, 1925 in Shenandoah, Iowa, the daughter of Chester C. and Ina F. (Pinckley) Thompson. Helen entered into eternal peace on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Elm Heights Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa.

Helen lived her entire life in the same house on 902 Church Street in Shenandoah. She graduated from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1942. She worked at Woolworth's Department Store as a bookkeeper for 47 years until the stores closing in 1990.

Helen was a member of the First Christian Church. In her spare time she enjoyed hand quilting and sewing. She made many beautiful quilts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Donald C. Thompson, sister Lora Mae Henry, a sister in infancy Mary Ann Thompson,nieces Judy Duffin and Joan Kaforski and special cousin Jodee Dunham.

Those left to honor her memory include her nephew Stan Henry (Heidi) and their children Rebecca and Christian, niece Barbara Henry, nephew George Kaforski and children Rhonda, Christopher and Joann and great-niece Candy Lynn Duffin; other relatives and friends.

"In our younger days, I can remember spending many times with Helen and other family members talking , laughing,swinging on her front porch. Faye, Josphine,Donna,Helen and i would go shopping and have a blast! Even after my husband and I moved away we kept in contact and Always stopped in to see Aunt Helen, You Will Always be remembered by me Aunt Helen. Mrs. Robert(Connie) Dalrymple , FL."
