Henry Jon Miller
November 28, 1943 - December 19, 2018

H. Jon Miller, son of Hiram and Pearl (Lage) Miller was born November 28, 1943 in Austin Minnesota. Passed away peacefully on December 19, 2018 in Brookfield, Wisconsin at age 75. Loving husband of Betty Boylan for 53 years, dedicated father of Chris (Angie Schmidt) Miller and Anne (Matt) Hartley and proud grandfather of Christina and Eli Hartley. Preceded in death by brothers Lyle, Earl, Robert and sisters Bealda Henderson, Zelma Woody and sister-in-law Donna (Boylan) Stewart. Survived by brother-in-law Kenneth Woody, sister-in-law Virginia Miller, brother-in-law Ronald Stewart, brother-in-law Carl (Margie) Boylan, nephew Scott (Jennifer) Stewart and niece Jennie (Kevin) Stillwell and great niece and nephew Emma and Logan. Also loved by other family and friends.

Jon graduated from Austin High School in 1961. He attended Iowa State University majoring in English and Speech with a Communications minor. He was a member of Alpha Kappa Lambda social fraternity. He met his wife Betty Boylan of Shenandoah in a statistics lab. They were married in Shenandoah, IA on February 28, 1965. They resided in Omaha, NE where he worked in public broadcasting, later moving to

Milwaukee, WI where Jon worked for public broadcasting service until retirement. He earned a Public Broadcasting Producer of the year award for the national televising of "The Great Circus Parade." Amongst others, he produced "Our State Fair," "Wisconsin Great Outdoors," and "Trains, Tracks, and Whistles." Jon's Masonic involvement included Nathan Hale 350 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite 32nd Degree and

Meritorious Service award, Yorkrite Freemasonry, Tripoli Shrine, Wauwatosa Chapter O.E.S., Order of the Amaranth, Order of True Kindred, and other Masonic organizations. He was a longtime member and certified lay speaker of the United Methodist Church. Jon's smile, humor, and creativity will be greatly missed.
