MUSCATINE, Iowa - Cynthia 'Cindy' Alcorta, 40, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018, at St. Mathias Church. Visitation will be at the church, from 9 until 11 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018.

Cindy was born on January 23, 1978, in Iowa City, the daughter of Reyes 'Ray' and Ruth Martinez Alcorta.
She graduated Muscatine High School and attended Muscatine Community College. Cindy was a para educator with the Muscatine Community School District for 15 years. She was also a member of Ss. Mary and Mathias Catholic Church.
She enjoyed cooking for anyone and everyone. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Cubs fan. Cindy loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her boyfriend, Justin, her sisters, nieces, nephews, and her dog Mikey.
Cindy is survived by her parents, Ray and Ruth Alcorta, of Muscatine; her daughter, Brianna Bravo of Muscatine; three sisters, Ruth Ann Medley and husband, Jim, of Muscatine, Bonnie McElroy of Muscatine, and Pam Alcorta of Mason City; her significant other, Justin Cunningham and his children, Haden, Logan, and Mason Cunningham; special nieces and nephews, Jason Whitlow and wife, Michelle, Jennifer Whitlow, Katie Alcorta, Dylan Maine and fiancé, Janelle, Molly Maine, Joshua McElroy, and Mayra Lopez; and many great nieces and nephews.
Cindy was preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents.
