Carolyn Jean Wilharm, 74, of Burlington, Iowa died at 2:21 PM on December 26, 2018 at Great River Medical Center following a short illness. Born, April 29, 1944 in Des Moines, Iowa, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Bessie (Shissler) Sally. Carolyn graduated from Oelwein High School, Oelwein, Iowa in 1962. She had two brothers, Lloyd Edward Sally, Jr and Curtis Sally. Carolyn married Ronald John Wilharm on July 7, 1962. They lived in Fremont, California and had five Children. Carolyn was a homemaker and enjoyed volunteering at animal shelters. She adopted many animals over the years. She returned to Iowa after Ron's passing. Carolyn attended Burlington Baptist Church in Burlington, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald John Wilharm, her oldest son Scott Wilharm, granddaughter Lauren Nicole Wilharm, parents and grandparents, Curtis and Audrey (Kern) Shissler of Colfax, Iowa and her brother Curtis Sally of Garden Valley, California. She is survived by her Children, Troy Wilharm, Todd and Jennifer Wilharm, Ronnette and Steve Miller and Trevor Wilharm. Eighteen grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, daughters in law Darlene Wilharm-Guertin, Tammy Rose and brother and sister in law Ed and Liz Sally.
A private family burial for Carolyn will be at McKeever Cemetery in Colfax, Iowa with Pastor Kendall Adams officiating on Monday January 31st. In lieu of flowers, Carolyn would wish that a donation in her name be made to P.A.W.'s Animal Shelter 2031 48th Street Fort Madison, Iowa 53627.
