Helen Mavis Carpenter
May 25, 1924 - December 30, 2018

Helen Mavis Carpenter, 94, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton. She was born on May 25, 1924, in Franklin County, Iowa, to James and Gale (Hutton) Lage, Jr.

Helen graduated from Latimer High School in 1941. She was united in marriage to Francis Carpenter on February 17, 1944, in Hampton.

Helen was a member of the Hampton Church of Christ, where she previously was church treasurer and secretary, played the organ and piano, and taught Sunday school for many years. She volunteered for Hospice of North Iowa.

Helen is survived by her son James (Lorna Vinson) Carpenter, son Richard Carpenter, daughter Crystal (Shane Whitchurch) Carpenter, grandchildren Ian Carpenter, Livia Carpenter, Randal Carpenter, Emory Ochoa and Celia Ochoa, and great-grandchildren Leif and Finn Carpenter

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Gale and husband Francis.
