Harry Raymond DeBruyn, age 90 of Colfax, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Colfax. Burial will take place at the Colfax Cemetery. The son of Harry and Mildred Thelma (Smith) DeBruyn, Raymond was born on February 3, 1928 in Prairie City. He graduated from Prairie City High School in 1947. Raymond served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon returning home from the service, he engaged in a career and life long passion of farming. He attended the First Baptist Church in Colfax.
Those left to honor his memory include his children, Larry (Kathy) DeBruyn, Linda Fulton and Lisa Kain; two grandchildren, Lindsey Kain and Graham Fulton; a brother, John L. (Agnes) DeBruyn and two sisters, Wanda Lea Henley and Marjorie Reddick. Preceding him in death were his parents, and two brothers-in-law, Robert Henley and Richard Reddick.
