Bernice Virginia Edmunds
December 30, 1925 - January 1, 2019

Bernice Virginia Edmunds, 93, of Mediapolis, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at the Great River Hospice House.
Born December 30, 1925 East of Kossuth, IA, Yellow spring Township, she was the daughter of Luther-Glenn and Catherine Eliza (Wheeler) Messenger. She married Myron Edmunds on January 12, 1952 in Monmouth, IL. He died July 31, 2008.
Bernice graduated from Mediapolis High School in 1943. She was a bus driver for Mediapolis Community School and researched genealogy.
She joined First Presbyterian Church in Mediapolis, IA on Easter Sunday in 1938. She was the oldest surviving member of the church,
Survivors include three sons; Michael Edmunds of West Burlington, Bret (Cindy) Edmunds of Denmark, and Daniel (Linda) Davis of La Junta, CO; one daughter, Sharon Davis of Galveston, TX; seven granddaughters, Aireal Marmion, Krista Edmunds, Kara Edmunds, Sascha (Davis) Chavez, Carrie Avery, Jamie Dayton and Jennifer Baloch; seven grandsons, David Mitchell, ,Stephen Mitchell, Shawn Davis, Stephen Davis, Tristan Edmunds, Jason Avery, and Allen Malatek; a brother, William Messenger of Stanton, CA; four nieces; twelve great-granddaughters; and twenty one great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband Myron; her parents; three brothers; one sister; and a son, Charles Lee Davis.
There will be no services or visitation. Burial will be at a later date in Terre Haute Cemetery, Terre Haute, IL. According to her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Great River Hospice House, 1306 South Washington Road, West Burlington, Iowa 52655, in memory of Bernice Edmunds.
